SCARECROWS AND STRAWBERRIES IN BLACKROD
The weekend of Saturday/Sunday July 4th/5th sees the third annual Blackrod Scarecrow Festival. On this weekend numerous scarecrows appear outside various houses and other buildings, and visitors come from miles around to see them. The previous two Festivals have been a great success, and it is expected that this year will be the same. So, why not come along to Blackrod on one of these two days, and join in the fun?
At the same time, why not call in at Blackrod Methodist Church. Situated right in the centre of the village, we are holding our annual Strawberry Fayre the same weekend. Open from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday, and 12pm to 5pm on the Sunday, you will be able to purchase not only strawberries and cream, but also home-made cakes, marmalade, toast and toasted teacakes, while stocks last, and also tea, coffee etc to drink. There will also be various stalls, including plants, books and toiletries. You will also be able to buy tickets for the raffle for which there will be several prizes. There are also toilets available.
So, make a note of the dates - July 4th/5th (Sat/Sun) and come and have a great day out. We look forward to seeing you.
